Cauterets [kotʁɛ] is a French commune in the south-western part of the Hautes-Pyrénées department, in the Occitanie region. Historically and culturally, the commune is in the province of Lavedan, the south-western part of Bigorre and made up of a group of seven valleys upstream from the town of Lourdes.
